Stanmer Park

Three Indian ink paintings of Stanmer Park in Brighton tell the story of journey through the woods, each capturing a deeper level of immersion in nature. The first painting introduces the walk with a broad, atmospheric view: a solitary tree stands tall above the rest, framed by a sky alive with shifting clouds. Moving closer, the second painting brings us under the canopy of the forest, where two figures pause among delicate, spindly branches to admire the sweeping landscape beyond. Finally, the third painting draws us into the intimate details of the forest floor, where mushrooms thrive on a decaying tree stump, surrounded by moss and shadow. Together, these artworks tell a story of exploration and connection, moving from the grand to the intricate within the tranquil embrace of the woods.
